Binary Numbers

Computers only know two things: ON (1) and OFF (0). All data is made of these.

In binary, each place is 2x bigger. Right to left: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128.

The number 5 in binary is 101. That's 4 + 0 + 1 = 5.

Letters are also numbers. A=65, B=66, C=67. The computer turns each into binary.

8 bits make 1 byte. One byte can hold numbers 0 to 255. That's why colors go 0-255!
