Symbols of Indonesia

GARUDA PANCASILA is Indonesia's national symbol. A golden eagle with a shield.

The FLAG is "Merah Putih" — red on top, white on bottom.

The national anthem is "Indonesia Raya". We stand and sing it proudly.

The national flower is Melati (Jasmine). White, small, sweet-smelling.

The capital of Indonesia is Jakarta. The president lives and works there.

Independence Day is 17 August. We celebrate with flag ceremonies and games.
