Photosynthesis

Plants make their own food using sunlight. This is called photosynthesis.

Leaves have tiny parts called chloroplasts. They catch sunlight like solar panels.

Roots drink water from soil. Water goes up the stem to the leaves.

Leaves breathe in carbon dioxide from the air. They use it to make sugar (food).

Plants give out oxygen — the gas we breathe. Thank a plant for every breath!
