Parts of Speech

A NOUN is a name of a person, place, or thing. Cat, school, teacher, Jakarta — all nouns.

A VERB is an action word. Run, jump, eat, sleep — they tell what you do.

An ADJECTIVE describes a noun. Red, big, happy, soft — they tell us more about things.

An ADVERB describes a verb. Quickly, slowly, happily — they tell how something is done.
