World War II

World War II was from 1939 to 1945. Almost every country in the world was involved.

Two sides: the Allies (UK, USA, Soviet Union, China, and others) vs the Axis (Germany, Japan, Italy).

Millions of people died — soldiers and civilians. It was the deadliest war in history.

The war ended when the USA dropped atomic bombs on Japan in August 1945. Japan surrendered.

After the war, the United Nations was created to keep peace. We must remember, so it never happens again.
