The Indonesian Flag

The Indonesian flag is called "Merah Putih" — Red and White. It has two equal horizontal bands.

The RED on top means bravery. Red like fire, like the courage of heroes.

The WHITE on bottom means purity. White like a clean heart, like honest people.

The flag was first raised on 17 August 1945 — Indonesia's Independence Day.

When you see the flag, stand tall. It is a symbol of our country and our people.
