Frequently asked questions
I downloaded an APK earlier and it wouldn't install on Android 14. Why?
The previous APK file was a placeholder package — it wasn't a properly signed Android app, so Android 14 (which enforces strict signing and target-SDK rules) rejected it. The correct, reliable way to install is to use "Add to Home screen" from Chrome, which installs a Progressive Web App (PWA). PWAs work perfectly on Android 14 and give you the same full-screen, app-like experience as a native APK.
Does the app work offline?
Most tools (PDF editor, hasher, JWT decoder, metronome, tuner, encryptor, etc.) run entirely client-side once the page is loaded. A few tools that call external APIs (DNS Lookup, IP Location Finder) require an internet connection. Your browser will cache the app shell so it launches quickly even on a slow connection.
Is this the same as a native Android app?
Functionally, yes — full-screen, launches from the home screen, no browser UI. The difference is it's powered by your browser's rendering engine rather than native Android code, which means it's always up-to-date and works identically on iOS, Android, and desktop.
How much storage does it use?
Less than 5 MB for the app shell. Heavy libraries (pdf-lib, pdfjs, signature_pad) are loaded on-demand only when you use the relevant tool. The AI Background Remover model (~80 MB) is cached only if you use that tool.
Can I uninstall it later?
Yes — long-press the app icon on your home screen and drag it to "Uninstall" or "Remove", just like any other app. This removes the icon and clears the cached data.
